What do I need to register a brand-new vehicle I bought from a private party?

The Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin signed over to you, the bill of sale, proof of insurance, and a VIN verification if it has never been registered. We prepare the REG 343.

How do I take my car out of PNO status?

Pay the registration fees for the current period and file for regular registration; if the vehicle was operated during PNO, penalties may apply. Send us the plate and we pull the exact figure.

Do I owe use tax on a first registration?

If you purchased the vehicle and no California sales tax was collected, use tax is due on the purchase price at your local rate, with credit for tax paid to another state within the last 365 days.
