Is my pickup truck a commercial vehicle in California?

Pickups are registered as commercial vehicles in California regardless of personal use, so they pay a weight fee. If it is used only personally and under 8,001 lbs unladen it can be exempt from the CVRA declaration but still registers as commercial.

What is CVRA?

The Commercial Vehicle Registration Act program for vehicles operating at more than 10,000 lbs gross or combined gross weight. Fees are based on the declared weight and a CVRA sticker and weight decal are issued.

Do you handle IRP apportioned plates?

IRP is handled through the DMV’s IRP unit, not through business partners. We handle intrastate registration; for apportioned plates we can point you to the right process.

Can you manage renewals for a whole fleet?

Yes. Send us the list once; we track each unit’s expiration, send the renewal notices to one contact, and process them as they come due.
