The table below is live from our system, so it always matches what your invoice will show. The fee is flat per transaction; it does not scale with your vehicle value or with how late you are.

Fee ranges for national online services are as published on their own sites and change; check before you buy. Every licensed service, AAA and Xpress included, issues the same DMV sticker and card and updates the same DMV record. The DMV performs every one of these transactions itself with no service fee.
DMV fees (passed through at cost)
The DMV portion is the same amount you would pay at a DMV office, and it is what makes two identical-looking renewals cost $300 and $1,200. As published by the DMV for 2026, a standard renewal stacks a $76 registration fee, a $34 CHP fee, a vehicle license fee of 0.65% of the vehicle’s value, a transportation improvement fee tiered by value ($33 to $231), county or district fees, and for most electric vehicles a road improvement fee. Late penalties add a percentage of the VLF plus flat fees at 10, 30 and 365 days. Transfers add a transfer fee and use tax on the purchase price. We do not estimate these; we pull your exact figure from the DMV record and show it on the invoice. All mailed items go with a tracking number that we text and email to you the moment the label prints.
Payment
Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) through Stripe secure checkout, or Zelle. Payment is due when the invoice is ready; we start processing within minutes of confirmed payment. We do not offer payment plans at this time.
Refunds
There is nothing to refund before you pay, because we do not charge until the invoice is ready. After payment, the transaction is submitted to the DMV and cannot be reversed, so completed services are not refundable. If the DMV rejects a filing for a reason we could have caught, we fix it at no additional service fee.

How much does a registration service charge in California?
Independent DMV business partners set their own flat fees, commonly $25 to $75 per transaction on top of DMV fees. Our fee for each service is in the table above.
Why is my DMV renewal total so high?
Most of the total is the vehicle license fee (0.65% of value) and the value-tiered transportation improvement fee, so newer and more expensive vehicles pay more; late penalties and EV fees stack on top. Our service fee is a small flat part of it.
Is there a fee to get a quote?
No. Submitting an order and receiving the itemized invoice is free. You pay only if you proceed.
Do you charge more for expired registrations?
No. Our fee is the same; only the DMV penalty portion changes with how late the renewal is.
